We fulfill our mission of involvement in and service to the campus and community through various philanthropic efforts.
Theta Nu Xi's national philanthropy is Girls For A Change (GFC). GFC is a national organization that empowers girls to create social change. They invite young women to design, lead, fund and implement social change projects that tackle issues girls face in their own neighborhoods. GFC provides the tools, resources, partnerships and support girls need to gain the voice, ability, and problem-solving capacity to realize their full potential. They welcome and serve all girls and focus our efforts on girls who live in low income communities.
If you would like to support our efforts by helping to raise money GFC, please click here to donate.
Theta Nu Xi supports women who are not members of the sorority yet exemplify our tenets of scholarship, service, sisterhood, multiculturalism, and leadership. To assist these amazing women as they work towards a higher education, every undergraduate chapter awards an annual $200 scholarship to a deserving student at their university. For students in the Washington, DC area, GAP Chapter Xi Gamma offers a $500 scholarship, the Mosaic Award.
Applications vary by chapter. If you are interested in learning more, please contact your local Theta Nu Xi Chapter or the National Director of Philanthropy and Fundraising.

This past Tuesday, the people of Haiti experienced a massive earthquake which left Southern Haiti in great disarray. The Haitian Red Cross has estimated the death toll at 45,000 to 50,000 people. Of Haiti’s nine million citizens, one-third of them will need assistance. While several organizations and volunteers from around the world have responded to help, the destruction left behind by the earthquake has made relief efforts in Port-Au-Prince less effective and more expensive.
In an effort to assist those in need as well as to recognize the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on January 19, the National Board of Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. is collecting funds to donate to the American Red Cross. This is a time ‘to give unselfishly, over and over again’ in order to make other lives more bearable as the people of Haiti struggle to recover.
Donations: Please submit your financial contributions through www.paypal.com to national_treasurer@thetanuxi.org. Donations made through PayPal are subject to a minimal processing fee of up to 3%. All contributors will be listed on the national website, as a show of unity in support for the Haitian people, along with a running tally of total funds contributed. Please include your name upon submission or indicate if you prefer that your donation be anonymous.
We will be accepting donations for the first phase through Monday, January 19. Your immediate support is desperately needed and appreciated. The ONE Love for Haiti drive will conclude its second phase on April 11, in honor of our founders' call to serve. Funds received during each phase will be donated to the Red Cross within 24 hours of the deadline.
If you prefer to donate with a check or money order, please mail to:

If you are personally dealing with a loss or missing family or friends, we urge you to connect with someone close to you who can help you through this difficult time. Our thoughts are with those dealing with the aftermath, especially our sisters who may have family and friends effected by the earthquake.
Please send questions, and other ways to support this cause to National President, Amanda Tomchak, at national_president@thetanuxi.org.
